PLEASE NOTE: Anyone attending our classes will need to fill out a contract & submit with payment to be received at least one week before the class start date. WE REQUIRE "PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY" for all our classes at this time--NO WALK-INS and NO WALK-IN SIGN UPS THE FIRST NIGHT OF CLASS.

Advanced Training Class

Classes take place on Wednesday evenings. (Contract Trainees only...NO Walk-In's at this time.)

Prerequisite: Basic obedience classes or equivalent training.

COST: 7 week session = $110. May be paid upon submitting your contract with exact payment using cash, check or money order. Sorry, we do NOT accept debit or credit cards!
LENGTH: 7 WEEKS.
SESSION TIME: Wednesdays
AGE: 6 MONTHS AND OLDER.
REQUIREMENTS: PROOF OF YOUR DOG'S VACCINATIONS.
BRING TO CLASS: "TRAINING" COLLAR, 6-FOOT LEATHER LEASH, AND SMALL SOFT TREATS.
** Collars and leashes are available for purchase for trainees who may need them.**

Basic Class

Puppy Class

SESSION TIMES: Wednesday evenings - times may vary, depending on amount of participants and classes needed. Classes are weekly and 1/2 hour per night.
AGE: 8 WEEKS TO 6 MONTHS.
REQUIREMENTS: PROOF THAT YOUR PUPPY IS CURRENT ON HIS/HER VACCINATIONS.
BRING TO CLASS: REGULAR (BUCKLE or SNAP-IN) COLLAR, A 6' LEASH, TREATS, AND A TOY.

Trick Dog Class:

This class will help you teach your dog new and old tricks. With successful completion of this course, instructors are able to provide you with paperwork to obtain American Kennel Club (AKC) Trick Dog titles!

Rally Obedience Class:

After you earn your CGC, you might consider rewarding your pup in the Trial ring with AKC-sanctioned competitions called Rally Obedience. Learn what a Dog Trial is and how to compete in Rally! Rally is a great way to keep your dog interested in Obedience work!

For those who are interested in TDI therapy dog testing, we regularly offer a 4 week session to help prepare you and your dog for the therapy dog evaluation--must be pre-registered; contact us.

**6-Foot Leashes are available for purchase for trainees who may need them. For the class, dogs can work in any type of training collar; however, for the evaluation, they can only work in a flat buckle collar, flat snap-in collar or a regular harness (not training harness)**

Pets N Vets

Healing Team Training

Our training staff will assist the Veteran in choosing a compatible dog from the local shelter or rescue, unless the Veteran already owns a suitable canine for the program. The Vet and the dog will attend training classes together to facilitate the formation of the "Healing Team" while learning new skills. This class is at "no cost" to the Veterans who qualify!

Overview

Our Veterans need and deserve every opportunity to heal. This innovative dog training class gives the wonderful dogs in shelters a chance to live and to serve by helping to heal the stresses, PTSD/TBI, and wounds so many soldiers battle when they come home.

Our goal in this training class is to encourage and support the Veteran and the dog to be able to pass a Canine Good Citizen Evaluation (CGC). The standards are set by the American Kennel Club. Teams are encouraged to continue with advanced training to pass further CGCA (Advanced) and CGCU (Urban) evaluations. Many Veterans in our program have trained their dogs to a "Service Dog" level.
